  1. The winner of the 2005 Mark One Waikato Player of the Year will be the player that, at the end of the contest, has the most points and will be further referred to as "the winner".
  2. In the event of a tie there will be a playoff between the players tied to define the overall winner. The organiser will determine the format and number of games to played.
  3. The first prize will be a trophy and a return airfare to the 2005 Australian Grand Prix (venue to be announced by DCI at a later date). It shall be further referred to as "the travel prize".
  4. The "travel prize" will consist only of an airfare from either Hamilton or Auckland to Australia and back to either Hamilton or Auckland up to the cost of NZD $450.
  5. The "travel prize" will not include any additional costs like departure tax, insurance etc. These will be the responsibility of the person taking the "travel prize".
  6. The "travel prize" is only valid for the 2005 Australian Grand Prix and is not transferable nor exchangeable for cash.
  7. Should the first place getter not wish to take "the travel prize" it will then be offered to the second place-getter and will continued to be offered down the list until someone takes it.
  8. If a player other than the winner takes "the travel prize" then they will gift to the winner the prize they would have received before accepting "the travel prize". If the person who takes "the travel prize" falls outside of the prize pool then the winner will receive only the trophy.
  9. If the eventual winner of "the travel prize" is under 18 years of age then the organiser must receive both written and verbal permission from the parent(s) or guardian(s) of that person.
  10. The organiser accepts no responsibility for any untoward events that may occur during the taking of "the travel prize".
  11. During the course of the contest should any player bring either the contest, the game of Magic: The Gathering or the sponsors into disrepute by cheating, stealing or any such activity deemed illegal by the laws of New Zealand and/or the Duellist Convocation (DCI) then the organiser reserves the right to disqualify such player(s) without prize.
